Global Surgical Initiatives
Established in 2019, GSI started with a simple mission - enabling access to safe, quality, affordable surgical care for those who need it the most. Enabled by philanthropic capital and supported by expertise from global medical academic centers, GSI established its flagship not-for-profit surgical care center - the Kyabirwa Surgical Centre, in eastern Uganda.
Our initial successes have positioned GSI as a global leader in fit-for-purpose, community-driven surgical care infrastructure and operations. As a result, we are creating the global playbook for sustainable surgical care delivery in low-resource settings, empowering underserved communities for generations to come.
